Dr. Chika Onwuekwe

President – 2015 

Dr. Chika B. Onwuekwe is a founding member and the current President of the African Canadian Golfers Club. He is cuurently Team Lead on international business transactions and intellectual property matters at Trican Well Service Ltd., an international oil and gas services company headquartered in Calgary, Alberta.  He is an invited lecturer/co-lecturer on topical legal issues.  Prior to joining Trican in January 2010, he articled and subsequently practiced with Norton Rose Canada (formerly Macleod Dixon LLP) and MacPherson Leslie Tyerman LLP (MLT) in Calgary.  He was formerly an Assistant Professor of Law and Society at the University of Calgary, an Adjunct Professor of Business Law at LBS Pan African University, Lagos, Nigeria, Experienced Senior at KPMG International (Tax & Business Regulatory Division) and a Consultant to both Justice Canada and Health Canada.  Dr. Onwuekwe is a registered Canadian Trademark Agent, a member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC); and the current Co-chair of the International Trademark Association (INTA): In-House Practitioners Committee (IHPC) – Idea Exchange Project Team.  He is an avid golfer.

Mr. Joe Momoh, P.Eng, PMP

Vice President – 2015
Mr. Joe Momoh is a founding member and the current Vice President of the African Canadian Golfers Club based in Calgary, Alberta.
Joe is a Delivery Project Executive consulting in the oil and gas industry for IBM Global Business Services with special focus on program/projects management and projects delivery for many clients. He has extensive experience across several geographies including in the USA, Asia and Africa providing IT leadership in the oil and gas sector. His career has spanned over 25 years of experience in the areas of program management, systems architecture, information systems management, software development, business analysis, systems analysis and programming, and systems engineering.

He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ife, Nigeria about 30 years ago, and also obtained a Masters degree in Software Engineering from the University of Calgary with several publications on software release and project management. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Joe is an avid golfer. He says “If I could do anything for a day, I would go golfing with a group of friends and close network. The challenges, strategies and imagination involved in every shots, the walk and the opportunity to be with people make it worthwhile.” He also enjoys travelling; hiking; and playing board games such as monopoly, scrabble and chess.

Joe is married with 2 sons and a daughter.

Charles Abeghe, P. Eng, MBA

Secretary – 2015 

Mr. Charles Abeghe is a founding member and Secretary of the African Canadian Golfers Club. Charles is a Professional Engineer with 26 years of diverse Canadian and international project management experience with Major oil & gas producers, Regulatory Authorities and EPCM contractors.

Mr. Abeghe holds a Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Jos, Nigeria and an MBA in international business management from the University of New Orleans, USA. He is a consultant engineer and has worked for several years in Nigeria, the United States and Canada and is a founding member of the African Canadian Golfers Club.

Before volunteering his skills and time to establish and grow the ACGC, Mr. Abeghe, was at various times a Facilities Engineer, Project Manager, Senior Project Manager and VP, Ghana Operations & Business Development of some Canadian Oil & Gas producing and engineering consulting companies.

He is currently the President/CEO of FRIL Consulting Inc; a Calgary based full service ECPM he co-founded. He is highly respected among his professional colleagues and peers. He is married with children and an avid golfer whenever he can make the time.

Mr. Vincent Onwuka, P.Geoph., MBA

Treasurer – 2015

Vincent Onwuka is one of the founding members as well as the Treasurer of the African Canadian Golfers Club – “ACGC”. Vincent is a Professional Geophysicist with over 20 years of Processing and Interpretation experience on local as well as international datasets.

He holds a bachelor degree in Geophysics from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria and a Master degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, USA.

He has a vast experience on datasets that range from minimal disturbed sedimentary basin geology to structured datasets that represents mountain thrust belts, major intrusive geology, salt domes, technically deformed and disturbed geology.

He has worked on deep marine datasets from the Niger delta of Nigeria, the Gulf of Mexico, East Coast Canada as well as the North Sea. He worked as a Team Lead, Land Processing with Arcis Seismic Solutions (A TGS Company) and currently as a Processing Supervisor with Seitel Inc. He is highly respected, trustworthy and liked by his colleagues and peers.

Vincent is an avid golfer and always volunteers his time to help in any way possible. He is happily married with children.

Mr. Albert Idibeyi

Membership Director -2015

Albert Idibiye is one of the founding members as well as the Membership Director of the African Canadian Golfers Club – ACGC.

Albert is a Drilling Engineer with over 17 years of industry experience in 3 different continents: North America, Asia and Africa. Albert holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Nigeria (1996).
